GodCheck 3: The Divine Intervention Hotline

The idea behind the Divine Intervention Hotline is a simple one.

Whenever someone prays, it registers as a call to the Hotline, and the God they are praying to is the one answering. When Christians and Jews pray, their calls are forwarded to the God Yahweh.

Scenes cut from the Hotline

During the editing process of “God Gets A Checkup” I cut two scenes from the Hotline.

One was the lunch break where Yahweh was discussing the days events with the Greek God Zeus. The second scene that was edited out of the final story was where Yahweh turned to Parvati, the Hindu Goddess of Love and Devotion, for advice in a love matter.

A woman had called him asking to be sent the perfect husband. Since Yahweh had tried (and failed) to help Elizabeth Taylor find a suitable husband, his self-confidence as a matchmaker was quite low. He and Alf had in fact found her 34 potential husbands, but she did not like any of them and kept marrying the wrong guy. Parvati explained that you can only advise the mortals, not force them to make the right decisions, and that when it comes to the matters of the heart – all bets are off.
